One good thing about the postseason is that every team, whether they were 21 – 0 or 0 – 21 in the regular season, they all have a clean slate. For the Melcher-Dallas boys’ basketball program, that’s exactly the mindset they have entering this evening’s Class 1A district opener against Seymour. The Warriors have toppled the Saints twice already this season, by margins of just one and two points. Coach Jim Wells says that though he doesn’t want to make excuses for his team, he didn’t have his full squad and they were not at 100% health. With his whole team, Wells says his Saints stand a better chance this time around. The winner of tonight’s game will play at Pekin on Thursday in round two. The two schools tip-off at 7:00 p.m.
