It was really over before it started. Pella Christian’s girls’ basketball team had no problem with Colfax-Mingo in the first round of the Class 2A regional tournament on Saturday, winning 65 – 37. All of the energy was on the TigerHawks side of the court, hustling after loose balls and grabbing several rebounds. Lauren Jungling put a stop to that after a bit in her last home game in her Eagles’ career, hitting three after three, and finished with 20 points. Hannah Beltman had 14 points as well for the Eagles who head to Van Meter on Tuesday for the second round match-up. The Pella Christian boys begin their postseason trek tonight in Albia against Cardinal of Eldon. You can hear that game live on 92.1 KRLS and streamed live at KNIAKRLS.com with Cory Houser and Wynne Veenstra on the call. Pregame coverage starts at 6:00 p.m. with tip-off at 6:30.
