Two Iowa Lottery winners were awarded big cash prizes after making purchases at separate Casey’s locations in Marion County. Ames Thudium Jr of Ottumwa won $30,000 playing the instant scratch game Crossword. He purchased his ticket in Knoxville. Richard Petersma of Pella won $250,000 in the Mega Millions game with a ticket he purchased in Pella. Lottery proceeds in Iowa have three main purposes: They provide support for veterans, help for a variety of significant projects through the
state General Fund, and backing for the Vision Iowa program who made a $1 million dollar donation to Fields for our Future which funded the new Pella Sports Park.
