Central Baseball, Softball Stay Hot in Tucson

The Central College softball is off to a 4-0 start after earning another doubleheader shutout sweep in Tucson, Arizona on Saturday. A day after outscoring its opponents 21-0, Central put up a 14-0 shutout over Marian of Wisconsin on Saturday morning before finishing strong for an 8-0 victory over Crown in the afternoon. That brings Central’s season tally to 45-0 in four contests. The fourth-rated Dutch will return to action on Sunday, playing Dennison at 3:30 Iowa time before giving Marian a chance at redemption immediately afterward. The Central men also won on the baseball field, defeating Macalester 15 – 10 in an offensive explosion. The Dutch pounded out 17 hits, four of which came off the bat of Jordan Judkins, who finished 4-for-6 on the day with three RBI’s. Central’s baseball team will by Augsburg later today.
