A loud environment and an intense contest is expected tonight in Pella, as the Central men’s basketball team will go head-to-head with Luther for their second Iowa Conference tournament championship in the past five years. The Dutch swept the season series over the Norse by a combined five points, with the game in Decorah going to overtime a little over a week ago. Central is the first Iowa Conference team in the history of the league to go from last place a year ago to first place the following year. Luther is enjoying their own Cinderella story; they were the sixth seeded team in the tourney and have knocked off Loras and Dubuque on their way to the title game tonight. Coach Craig Douma says that the Norse have several threats on the court at once offensively. You can hear tonight’s big game live on 92.1 KRLS and streamed live on KNIAKRLS.com with the talent-tandem of Trevor Castle and George Wares accompanying Cory Houser on the play-by-play. Pregame coverage is slated to start at 6:45 p.m. with tip-off at seven.
