Central’s baseball team left Tucson, Arizona with a bang. The Dutch pounded out 18 hits on their way to a 12 – 9 victory over Hamline. Five first inning runs were just enough to earn pitcher Dakotah Wolken the win, who gave up five runs over six innings of work, including three strikeouts. Robbie Rushing went 3-for-6 at the dish, knocked in four runs, including a two-run jack in the eighth inning. Central’s designated hitter was just a single shy of hitting for the cycle. The Dutch are 8 – 3, and they went 7 – 1 in their eight –game stand down in Arizona. They’re off until Wednesday when they host Grinnell College.
