On their final day down in Tucson, Arizona, the Central softball team took a win and a loss against their competitors on Saturday. The day started not too pretty for the Dutch who committed four errors, but still had a chance to win in the seventh inning before falling to Gustavus Adolphus, 3 – 2. Central had the tying run on third with two outs but a groundout ended the game. Central would not go quietly, as their bats awoke in the nightcap against St. Olaf to win going away, 12 – 2 in five innings. Abbey Strajack went 3-for-4 at the dish with two RBI’s, while Whitney Sowers and Kaitlyn Matzen also drove in two runs apiece. Central is 12 – 4 on the year, and they’ll be home for their next six games starting on Friday with a doubleheader against Wisconsin – Eau Claire.
