She didn’t play many minutes for Coach Kevin Van Maanen and the Pella Christian girls’ basketball team, but what senior Savanna Baugh did do was provide quality leadership for the Eagles this season. The Eagles lost several talented players after making it to the state tournament multiple times over the last handful of campaigns, and for 2013-14, Van Maanen had just two twelfth-graders as his disposal on the varsity roster. With Lauren Jungling being the other one who led quietly on and off the court, Van Maanen says that Baugh was the vocal leader of the team. Pella Christian’s girls concluded their regular season with a 10 – 13 record.
