The Pella Police Department has received a grant from the Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau, allowing them to field additional officers during busy times of the year and holiday weekends such as St. Patrick’s Day. Lt. Paul Haase tells KNIA/KRLS News that the additional funding allows them to put more officers on the road this weekend, focusing on speed, seatbelts, and impaired driving.
