Another huge week in Central College athletics was capped off by more Iowa Conference recognition yesterday. Distance runner for the Dutch track and field team, Eli Horton was named Iowa Conference male athlete of the week after being the MVP of the league indoor track meet on Saturday. Kevin Kaerwer of the Central men’s basketball team was just one of the instrumental cogs for the Dutch’s two wins in the conference tournament on their way to their NCAA Division III national tournament berth this Friday night. The senior scored 19 points in Saturday’s clincher over Luther, and averages over 15 points per game on the season. Central’s men will play St. Olaf of Minnesota at Stevens Point, Wisconsin on Friday night at 5:00 p.m.
