Though it is very sad to see a season come to an end, when you had a kind of season that the Pella High girls’ basketball team did, there are several things that happened along the way they can look back at and hold their heads up about. The Lady Dutch lost to three state tournament teams in Dallas Center-Grimes, Bondurant-Farrar and Ballard, and also defeated Carlisle, a team who, too, made it to the Wells Fargo Arena. Head Coach, Jerod Garland says he and the coaches told the girls in the locker room that they have nothing to be ashamed of this year. Pella only loses one senior in Jackie Sunderman and finished the season 16 – 7 overall.
