Funeral services for Merlin Spoelstra, age 44 of rural New Sharon, will be held on Monday, March 31st at 10:30 am in the Grace Lutheran Church in Oskaloosa. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery near Leighton. Visitation will begin at Bates Funeral Home on Sunday after 11:00 am, and the family will be present from 1:00 to 3:00 pm to greet friends and relatives. A memorial fund has been established for his children.
