Building a base in the cross country season, PCM boys’ track and field coach, Eric Karr is excited to be outdoors for the track and field campaign in 2014. He has several guys out for track this year that ran some cross country for him in the fall. Right now, Karr says he’s focused on getting his team into track shape, but their strengths early on appear to be in the mid-distances. The Mustangs’ coach also tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that he is feeling pretty good about his long jumpers and throwers, and they’ll use the regular season meets to develop the short-distance runners in the 100 and 200, for example. The Mustangs’ boys will open up their season on April 4 at Roland Story in a quad meet.
