Pella Police Shield

Pella Police Chief Robert Bokinsky tells KNIA/KRLS News that the department is getting a new records management system. Bokinsky says that the current system is 26 years old, and the upgrade will allow them to operate more quickly and efficiently when seeking information. He adds that the majority of the law enforcement agencies have gone paperless, while they still use logs, which makes it very difficult to exchange information when researching information on suspects or cases. Bokinsky concludes by saying that this new system will also allow patrol officers to access their database from their cars, making their jobs easier, and freeing up time that was used for in office paperwork to spend more time on the streets.
