Improving by six wins from 2012-13, the Pella High girls’ basketball team can thank their improvement in a few categories for their success this past season. The Lady Dutch scored nine more points per game on average, shot the ball for a better percentage, and increased in just about every statistical category on defense. Turnovers and rebounding also improved, both of which Coach Jerod Garland says he’s probably the most happy about. The Lady Dutch led Class 4A in offensive rebounding this season, something Garland says was a huge contributor to how far they were able to get in the conference and in the postseason.
