Using the momentum from a late come-from-behind victory over Coe on Friday, the Central baseball team finished what they started and completed a four-game sweep of the Kohawks on Saturday. The Dutch won game one 4 – 2; Central scored four consecutive runs in the third-through-fifth innings and were charged offensively by Adam Ariola who was 3-for-4 at the plate with an RBI. Robbie Rushing went to 4 – 0 after pitching six innings and allowing one run on four hits with four strikeouts. The Dutch offense exploded for 13 runs in the second game winning 13 – 5. Coe got out to a 4 – 1 lead after three innings, but Central put up 12 unanswered runs, including five in the fourth and sixth innings. Five starters had a multi-hit game; Jordan Judkins was 3-for-5, Andrew O’Toole was 2-for-5 with three RBI’s, and Rushing was 4-for-5 with four runs driven in. Central has won seven straight and nine of their last ten contests to boost their record to 20 – 11 overall and they are now 12 – 8 in Iowa Conference play. They’ll take on Loras next weekend.
