Central’s baseball squad notched their second consecutive series win on Saturday, sweeping their doubleheader with Luther in Iowa Conference action. Game one went Central’s way, 4 – 0. Judson McKown went the distance, giving up only three hits in seven innings of work while striking out seven. Robbie Rushing had a two-run blast, his fourth of the season, to help lead the Dutch to victory. Game two was a bit closer in the nine-inning affair, but Central ended up on top, 6 – 5. After the Norse tied the game in the top of the eighth at five-all, Jace Ahrendsen brought home Andrew O’Toole who led off the inning with a double for the go-ahead run. Central is now 16 – 11 overall and 8 – 8 within the league, and they will next play Coe at home on Friday.
