Knoxville High School has its football coach. The school board voted to approve a physical education teacher and varsity football coach at its meeting last night and it is Eric Kellar from Eddyville-Blakesburg. Kellar led the Rockets to a playoff appearance last season and compiled a 6-4 record. He will also be the assistant boys track coach and that will stay in the Cunningham Family as Joe Cunningham will take over for brother Mike Cunningham the Second after this season. Before C2, his father Mike coached the Panthers to the 1991 state title. The final varsity coach to get approved was Michael Splavec as he will take over the Panthers Cross Country program. Splavec’s approval is pending completion of his coaching license.
