A fifth place was not in the plans for Knoxville at the 49th Panther Relays yesterday, but with Tanner Dunkin out due to illness, Coach Mike Cunningham the Second had to move around several positions. The Panthers did record several podium finishes as Jerry Nichols was second in the 110 hurdles, he also won the 400 hurdles. Trent Davis and Nathan Winters did their parts in the field events with Davis taking first in the long jump and Winters winning his second shot put this week. The Panthers were also golden in the shuttle hurdle relay. On the girls side, Coach Jeremy Van Engen told KNIA/KRLS Sports a lot of handoff mistakes hampered his team to a sixth place finish. Meredith Cunningham placed second in the 100 hurdles for the Panthers best individual finish.
