The Knoxville City Council this week approved a revised Employee Handbook for Knoxville City employees. City Manager Harold Stewart says there were no sexual harassment, alcohol or drug policies in place, so those were added. He says the handbook was reviewed by representatives from each department, and then by each department head. Stewart says there was concern by some regarding the alcohol policy, but he wishes to stress that it pertains to use and abuse of alcohol such that it discredits a person as a city employee. He says the policy regarding tobacco was changed to allow employees to carry it on their person, but not use it on city property or in city vehicles.
