The Knoxville Public Library is celebrating National Library Week this week. Director Roslin Thompson tells KNIA KRLS News that the week will come to a close with a comedy act this Friday at 11. She says “Laughing Matters” is a husband and wife team who do comedy, magic, juggling, and mime. Thompson also says the library is taking canned goods in exchange for fines, up to a limit of $50 on each account. She says it’s an excellent way to pay off any fines at the library, as well as help the local food pantry. Thompson says fines are 20 cents a day, and the library collects approximately $10,000 in fines and copies every year.
