Knoxville School Board Approves Assistant HS Principal; HS PE Teacher/Coach

The Knoxville School Board held their regular meeting Monday evening. The Board approved a contract for Trenton Keefer to serve as Assistant High School Principal. Keefer comes to Knoxville from Mt. Pleasant, where he has served as Principal of the alternative high school; substitute principal; Language Arts Teacher and multi-sport coach. He also served as Language Arts Teacher at Ruthven-Ayrshire School District. His contract becomes effective July 1, 2014.

The Board also approved a contract for the High School PE teacher position. Eric Kellar currently teaches PE at Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont, and serves as the Head Football Coach and Head Track Coach there.

The board also heard discussion of bids for the driver education program; approved wages and salary for administrative and support staff; and approved a sharing agreement for a Supervisor of Maintenance Operations with Pella School District. The Board discussed and tabled the bid for the middle school brick replacement and repair, as the two bids received were significantly different. The Board would like clarification on the bids presented.
