At the most recent Knoxville School Board meeting, the board discussed the Driver Education Program. Superintendent Dr. Randy Flack tells KNIA KRLS News that Tom Grimm and Deb Bachman have provided the instruction for more than 30 years, and the school provides the cars, gasoline, and insurance for the program. Dr. Flack says if the school contracts with a private drivers ed program provider, that would reduce the numbers of the fleet of vehicles, and would remove the school’s liability for the program. He says it would also reduce the drivers’ ed fee for the school for students who qualify for free and reduced lunch.
