The deteriorating tennis courts at Young’s Park were discussed at this week’s Knoxville School Board meeting. Superintendent Dr. Randy Flack tells KNIA KRLS News that the condition was recently evaluated by Dan Treiber, with Tennis Surfaces of Iowa, who said resurfacing would be just a temporary fix. Treiber recommends a complete rebuild, which would cost in excess of $500,000. Dr. Flack adds that if the courts are to be rebuilt, the school would like to see them built on school property, while maintaining community access. He says the school will discuss the issue with the City of Knoxville for possible support.
