The Knoxville Self-Supporting Municipal Improvement District program (SSMID) provides funds for downtown Knoxville property owners to help improve facades of participating businesses. Chamber Executive Director Larissa Van Donselaar says there is currently $42,000 in the account, and applicants are needed. She says applications are due to the Chamber by May 9 at 4pm. She says if property owners have already contacted a contractor and are waiting on estimates, give the Chamber a call and let them know if the application may be late.
