A score of 218 points was more than enough for the Pella High girls’ track team to run away with a first place victory at the Bondurant-Farrar track meet yesterday. The Lady Dutch won 15 different events, with a big highlight coming from junior Jessica Holterhaus, who set a new school record in the long jump with a leap of 18 – 00.5. Knoxville’s girls were fourth overall; they had a runner-up and third place finish in the 200 from Jenci Ruff and Shaye Nichols, respectively. The Little Dutch faced some very tough competition for the second straight meet and finished fifth as a team. They were bested by Ames, Des Moines Lincoln, Urbandale and Indianola. Jordan Pingel won the 400 meter, and Coach Brent Van Hauen tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that his team had several third and fourth place finishes. Full results for the Pella girls can be found below.
