16 trees along the Molengracht Canal were removed Tuesday afternoon by the Pella Parks Department. Department Manager Chandler Nunnikhoven tells KNIA/KRLS News that new trees, including Little Leaf Linden, Maples, Boxwood and a variety of others delivered were planted Thursday and Friday. He says the previous trees were all damaged, dead, or dying and needed to be replaced. He adds that if everything goes to plan, they will power wash the canal tomorrow and paint the bridge early in the week as well.
