After losing game one 4 – 1 to Luther, pitcher Dakota Wolken and Andrew O’Toole made sure game two was a no-doubter, and even sent the fans home happy early, with a 10 – 0, eight-inning win in the nightcap. Wolken pitched a complete-game shutout, giving up just four hits and two walks. The biggest at-bat of the game came with two strikes and two outs in the seventh. O’Toole came up with the bases loaded and promptly swatted one that snuck inside of the left field foul pole to promptly clear the bases. Central baseball is now 14 – 11 overall and 6 – 8 in the league. They’ll complete their series with the Norse later today; game one has been moved up to an 11:00 a.m. start due to the threat of severe weather. The Central softball team is rested and ready for doubleheader action with Loras this afternoon. Weather may play a factor, as forecasters are predicting thunderstorms and rain at some point today. The Dutch are coming off back-to-back long road trips with Luther and Buena Vista in which they split the twinbill with squads. You can hear today’s doubleheader live on 92.1 KRLS and streamed live at KNIAKRLS.com, with Trevor Castle on the call. First pitch is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
