A new business in Pleasantville opened recently. Former Marion County Engineer Roger Schletzbaum, his wife Maureen, and their daughter Marissa started Straw Hat Farms of Marion County, at 307 E. DeWitt Street. Straw Hat Farms specializes in bedding plants, hanging baskets, vegetable plants, seed potatoes and onions and perennials, and her parents say the business was started out of a need to find Marissa, who has Downs Syndrome, something meaningful to do after she graduated from high school. Marissa got her start in horticulture in FFA. Visit www.strawhatfarms.net for more information.
