One of the quickest ways to improve the view of your yard is to trim trees, however, this may not be the best time of year to do so if you have blooming trees. Sheryl Nunnikhoven, owner of Dutch Meadows in Pella, tells KNIA/KRLS News that she suggests trimming trees when you have time, although she warns that if you trim blooming trees such as magnolias this time of year, you will cut many of the blossoms off. She says you also need to fertilize your trees before July 1st, mainly because you want to promote growth now, as opposed to the second half of the year.
