Supplemental State Aid for Iowa’s schools has passed the Senate twice, State Senator Amy Sinclair tells KNIA KRLS News. She says that last year, supplemental aid for FY15 was set at 4%. She says the problem is that it should have been sent for FY16, also, this year, but it is stalled in the House. She says the number set in the senate was 6%, but she says that puts the state budget at a very tight position, and that 6% is unsustainable. She adds Governor Brandstad says even if it passes both the House and Senate, that he’ll likely veto it.
