With a little more than four weeks until Tulip Time, Burgemeester Randy Sikkema tells KNIA/KRLS News that we are going to need high temperatures to average at least in the low to mid 50’s, with the addition of six to eight warmer days mixed in, to have the best results for the annual flower festival. Average high’s for April range anywhere from the mid 50’s at the beginning of the month, to mid 60’s as we near May. Sikkema adds that the city plants early, mid, and late blooming flowers each so year, so regardless of the April forecast, some if not all Tulips will be ready by May 1st.
