Two family friendly events will take place today at Red Rock Lake. At 10 am Let’s Go Muddin’ will take place at the new Playscape. Ranger Tracy Spry says that they will go on a quest to discover creatures that like to live under rocks and logs, in the dirt, and in the wetlands. Interested participants should meet in the north end of the parking lot at North Overlook Beach. Then at 3pm, you can learn about eagles in Iowa at the Red Rock Visitor Center. Rangers will talk about the impacts of lead on wildlife and people. You can also meet Thora, SOAR’s education ambassador eagle, and hear her story. A rehabilitated bald eagle will also be released by SOAR, which stands for Saving Our Avian Resources.
