unnamed

On Tuesday May 6, 2014 at about 12:09 p.m. Knoxville Police and Rescue personnel were sent to the intersection of S. Roche St. and W. Montgomery for the report of a car that had hit a house.

Knoxville Police Chief Dan Losada says it appears that a Pontiac mini-van being driven by a 71-year-old woman failed to stop at the stop sign on Montgomery and was struck by a south bound Ford pickup being driven by a 52-year-old man. The impact caused the van to strike a tree on the southwest corner of the intersection. The van then shifted into reverse, backed diagonally across the intersection, jumped the curb, ran over the stop sign, before hitting and partially entering the house at 113 W. Montgomery. The house was occupied at the time of the accident.

Knoxville Fire and Rescue personnel checked everyone involved and everyone declined treatment and transport. Both vehicles were eventually towed from the scene.

The investigation is ongoing and no citations have yet been issued.
