At Monday’s Knoxville City Council meeting, the Council and representatives from the Chamber of Commerce discussed an agreement regarding the use of hotel/motel tax funds, and how that money exchanges hands. City Manager Harold Stewart says the Council is interested in receiving a counter proposal from the Chamber, as the Chamber had declined the proposal that the Council offered recently. Stewart says at this point, Council is waiting to hear from the Chamber, and to hold a joint meeting between the Council and the Board of Directors of the Chamber. KNIA KRLS News will have more information on this topic, as it becomes official.
