The first two innings dictated how the game went between Knoxville and Albia in both squads softball season openers last night. The Panthers fell 4-1 after the Lady Dees hit the first pitch of the game for a home run and then plated three more in the second to grab a 4-0 lead. Knoxville plated a run in the third innings in an R-B-I single by Emily Wallace. Coach Steph Christner tells KNIA/KRLS the girls are starting to hit the ball hard already, and that is one thing that she is pleased with. The Panthers threatened with bases loaded in the seventh but could not come away with any runs. Emily Wallace took the loss allowing four runs on five hits. Knoxville will travel to Martensdale St. Mary’s tonight.
