Lady Dutch Tennis Falls to Grinnell

Pella’s girls’ tennis team played Grinnell tough, but it was the Tigers that ended up on top of the Lady Dutch yesterday, 7 – 4. Bri Buzick won in straight sets in singles, while Anna Jaarsma also picked up a solo victory. Taryn Ernst and Elyse Sadler earned their first ever varsity doubles win in the number five match of doubles. Full results are below.

#1 Singles : Wassenaar lost 1-6, 1-6 to District Champion Lily Hamilton.
#2 Singles : Kalkwarf lost 4-6, 0-6 to Jackie Johnson.
#3 Singles : Buzick won in straight sets 6-2, 6-1 to Maddie Krumm.
#4 Singles : Kriegel lost 2-6, 4-6 to Amaris Bates.
#5 Singles : Dingeman lost to Emma Hartz 3-6, 1-6.
#6 Singles : Jaarsma won a back and forth match 5-7, 7-6(2), 10-6 to Annelies Wiltfang.

#1 Doubles : Wassenaar and Buzick lost 2-6, 1-6 to Hamilton and Johnson.
#2 Doubles : Kalkwarf and Dingeman bounced back after losing the first set to win 3-6, 6-4, 10-5 against Bates and Krumm.
#3 Doubles : Kriegel and Williamson lost 1-6, 4-6 to Kylie Kelling and Hartz.
#4 Doubles : Williamson and Johnson lost 2-6, 0-6 to Kenzie Ellis and Wiltfang.
#5 Doubles : Ernst and Sadler got their first varsity win after beating Whitney Grubb and Beth Mitchell 6-4, 0-6, 10-5.
