The Pella High boys’ soccer team made a quick exit from the Class 2A substate tournament, losing in the semifinals to Grinnell in penalty kicks, 2 – 1. The score was 1 – 0 at the half in favor of the Tigers, but Pella came out in the second half with increased intensity, and scored four minutes in with a goal from Sawyer Burton. The score would stay that way through regulation and two overtime periods. Grinnell converted on four while Pella was only successful on two to give the Tigers the win. Pella’s season ends with a record of 13 – 6 – 1.
