Not earning a single win in Little Hawkeye Conference duals this season, the Pella Christian girls’ tennis team has proved through the last two weeks that what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. The Eagles tore through the first round of regional play, winning over Chariton and Maharishi to advance to this Saturday’s finals. They also finished tied for third in the Little Hawkeye Conference tournament. Coach Danielle Stubbs says that if the girls were starting to get down on themselves, she reminded them how tough the league was this season from top-to-bottom. The Eagles have a chance to make it to state as individuals with strong play this Thursday on their home courts in the varsity state qualifier.
