The day started well for Pella Christian in their home baseball tournament on Saturday. The Eagles picked up an 18 – 0 shutout win of Woodward Academy. Clay Stravers had three hits, Ben Bouwcamp hit a three-run round-tripper, and Josh Rolffs threw four scoreless innings. Pleasantville beat Pella Christian in game two, 8 – 3. Andrew Vanderhart had two hits for the Eagles, while Nate Sowers was the winning pitcher for the Trojans on the mound. Pleasantville also picked up an 11 – 1 win over Eddyville-Blakesburg. Eagles’ softball was run-rule’d, 10 – 0 by the Rockets. Pleasantville baseball plays Martensdale-St. Mary’s on Tuesday, and Pella Christian is at home against Newton on Monday.
