Pella Christian baseball and softball will get a couple games in today should the weather hold out. Each squad will be participating in tournament action starting this morning. Eagles’ softball had their doubleheader with Dallas Center-Grimes rained out on Thursday, with a make-up date for this Monday. Still fresh on their minds is a 6 – 0 win over Grinnell on Wednesday, in which the team wasn’t happy with how they performed at the plate. Coach Karen Harrill tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that they have been working on more line drive and ground ball hitting as opposed to pop-ups which dotted the scorecard the other night. The Eagles’ girls will play Iowa Valley and Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont in Oskaloosa starting at 9:15 a.m. Pella Christian baseball welcomes the Rockets, Pleasantville and Woodward Academy for their own tournament in the Tulip City. The boys’ tournament is scheduled for a first game 10:00 a.m. first pitch.
