Pella Christian’s baseball and softball teams have a chance to pick up some momentum in conference play tonight with doubleheaders in Newton against the Cardinals. The Eagles’ baseball squad almost came up with a big win over Dallas Center-Grimes on Wednesday; tying the game on a three-run homer in the bottom of the seventh to send it to extras. The Cardinals’ boys, however, are just 1 – 4 on the season and dropped to Norwalk on Wednesday, 4 – 0. The Cardinals’ gals are winless on the season, while Pella Christian lost just their first game of the season to the number-one ranked team in Class 4A, Dallas Center-Grimes the other night. You can hear the softball contest live on 92.1 KRLS and streamed live at KNIAKRLS.com with Cory Houser on the call. Pregame starts at around 7:15 p.m. with first pitch coming at the conclusion of the first game of the twinbill.
