Not many college sports have opportunities for incoming freshmen to make the varsity roster and fill in holes left by departing seniors. Each sport has a JV team designed almost for that purpose: to give those that weren’t quite good enough to play at the varsity level a chance to contribute and hone their skills while waiting for a spot in “The Show” to open up. However, Central head women’s soccer coach, Mike Kobylinski, says their incoming freshmen, should they prove themselves worthy, may be playing varsity soccer as 18-year-olds. Coach Kobylinski and Garry Laidlaw are on the recruiting trail, getting ready for their season openers at the end of August.
