Knoxville Baseball returned from Newton on Thursday night with a split and once again left wondering what might have been. Knoxville won the opener 8-1 behind a complete game on the mound from Senior Bryce Zoutte who now has a 6-0 record in seven starts. Jake Kendall had two R-B-I doubles, Jared McClung added a pair of R-B-I singles. Game two was another frustrating loss for the Panthers 5-3, as they seemed to hit the ball right at the Cardinals all game long, Kaden Loscher took the loss on the mound for Knoxville in relief. Jake Kendall stayed hot at the plate with two more hits and two more R-B-I. Knoxville is now 14-9 overall and falls into a tie with Pella for third place in the Little Hawkeye Conference at 9-6.
