The Knoxville Baseball Squad got its first double header sweep of the season last night over Bondurant-Farrar as the Panthers won game one 8-5 with Bryce Zoutte getting the win, and Tony Salato earning the save. The Panthers had it much tougher in game two winning 9-8 in nine innings. Knoxville jumped out to a 7-0 lead, but the Blue Jays stormed back with six runs in the fifth inning plus two more to take the lead in the top of the seventh 8-7. Jared McClung ripped an R-B-I double to tie it at eight. After a scoreless eighth the Panthers plated the game winner when Nolan Wallace brought home Ross Shelford. Knoxville Coach Joel Johnson started Freshman Cameron Liston and he went four strong innings in a no decision, but still credited his team for hanging in and getting the win. Tony Salato got the win in relief going two innings allowing no runs on just one hit and four strikeouts. With the sweep, Knoxville improves to 4-3 on the season and will host Grinnell tomorrow.
