Paige Lowary’s 19 strikeouts helped her Dallas Center-Grimes’ softball team edge Pella High last night, 4 – 0. Lowary gave up just two hits and a walk, and Pella stranded all three of their runners in scoring position. All four of the Fillies’ runs were unearned and came with two outs, as errors haunted the Lady Dutch again. Over on the baseball field, Tanner Wood had it working on the mound in a 3 – 1 Little Dutch victory. He allowed just four hits in the game. Pella softball drops to 2 – 17 while the baseball team improves to 14 – 8 on the year. The Lady Dutch play tonight against Chariton and the boys are off until tomorrow to take on Grinnell.
