The Marion County Board of Supervisors met Tuesday morning. Items that were approved include the appointment of Steve Klein to the Marion County Pioneer Cemetery Commission to fill a vacancy; the Marion County Treasurer’s semi-annual report for the time period of July 1, 2013, through December 31, 2013. Also approved was the contract with Norris Asphalt Paving, for the construction of widening and resurfacing of a portion of County Highway G40, for an amount just over $1.6 million. Items closed for discussion pending more information included Representative Greg Heartsill’s presentation regarding highway intersection safety improvements; Don Zoutte’s request to place a Freedom Rock on the Courthouse grounds, and a change to the contract for the courthouse clock tower repair project.
