Rachel Freland picked up another win on the mound for the PCM softball team, helping her Mustangs to victory 8 – 3 last night over North Polk. Freland struck out four Comet batters. Kayla Jennings had a double and Makenna Van Veen had a pair of hits and an RBI. On the baseball diamond, the Mustangs allowed just one hit, but North Polk still came out on top 1 – 0. PCM committed three errors and slapped out six hits but couldn’t push a run across. Austin Brown took the hard luck loss, striking out seven. Mustangs’ softball is 9 – 1 and baseball drops to 5 – 3. Each squad plays Saydel next tomorrow night.
