In what may have been the final meeting between the Knoxville and Norwalk baseball squads…the Panthers ended the series in style by defeating the league leading Warriors 7-3 last night. Knoxville struck first when Kevin Woodhouse scored, but Norwalk tied it in the third. After the Panthers forged ahead in the fourth when on a Nolan Wallace R-B-I single to score Calyn Bungardner, the Warriors would equalize in the fourth, but Knoxville would plate three runs in the fifth to break it open. Coach Joel Johnson told KNIA/KRLS Sports his script for the game was executed to perfection. Kevin Woodhouse got the win going four innings giving up just two runs on the five hits and a walk. Tony Salato got the save his seventh of the season plus went 3/4 with two doubles. Knoxville is now 15-9 on the season and 10-6 in the Little Hawkeye Conference. The Panthers were supposed to play in the A-D-M Invitational today, but that event has been cancelled due to wet field conditions.
