The offense was clicking, however the pitching was a bit lacking for PCM on Saturday in their stay at West Marshall for a pair of games. PCM went to extras with Grundy Center, and promptly put up a ten-spot in the eighth inning to win, 13 – 3. Trey Lindsay slapped four hits, and five other Mustangs had multi-hit games. Austin Brown had a two-out RBI double in the top of the seventh to tie the game up to get the Mustangs into free baseball. The Mustangs gave up 14 runs in the first inning to West Marshall after scoring four of their own, and hung around just long enough to lose in six innings, 20 – 10. PCM softball fell in a couple of two-run games, 5 – 3 to Creston and 3 – 1 to Eddyville-Blakesburg. Both Mustangs’ ball clubs are at it again on Monday at home against South Hamilton.
